1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ImgConvert ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

We designed the Service to need as little data as possible. If a feature doesn't require your information, we don't ask for it — and if we do need it temporarily, we discard it as soon as we can.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the Service. The only data you actively provide is the image files you upload for conversion or compression, and — if you contact us — the contents of your email.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers may log standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent (browser/OS), referrer, and timestamps. This information is used strictly for security, abuse prevention, and operational troubleshooting. Logs are retained for a limited period and then automatically purged.

3. How your images are handled

Images you upload are:

• Processed in memory or in a short-lived system temp file on our server.
• Deleted immediately after the conversion or compression response is sent back to your browser. A shutdown safety net ensures deletion even if processing errors out.
• Never written to a persistent disk, cache, database, or backup.
• Never shared, sold, or used to train any model.
• Never inspected by humans — our staff do not have access to uploaded content, because there is nothing stored to access.

In practice, the lifecycle of a file on our server is measured in milliseconds.

4. Cookies & local storage

The Service does not set advertising or tracking cookies. We may use minimal browser storage (such as localStorage) strictly to remember non-identifying preferences like your last-selected output format or quality slider value. This data stays in your browser — we never receive it.

If we display advertisements in the future (for example, via Google AdSense), those providers may set their own cookies. We will update this policy and give clear notice before enabling any such integrations, and you can control these through your browser settings or the provider's opt-out tools.

5. Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site reliably:

• Google Fonts — to load the Inter typeface. Google may log the request and IP address as part of serving the font.
• Our hosting provider — handles the underlying server infrastructure and sees the same standard request metadata described above.

We do not share uploaded image content with any third party.

6. Advertising

If and when we show ads on the Service, they may be served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Those networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

• The right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
• The right to object to or restrict certain processing.
• The right to data portability.
• The right to withdraw consent at any time.
• The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Data security

The Service is served over HTTPS. Uploaded files are transmitted using TLS, processed in isolated temporary storage, and destroyed at the end of the request. We follow industry best practices for server hardening, but no internet transmission is ever 100% secure — please don't upload files containing highly sensitive information.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. International transfers

Our servers may be located in a country different from yours. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your request data may be transferred to, and processed in, those countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or through a prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
